And yeah, I really think if it weren't for Metallica busting open the doors to potential commercial success for thrash metal in the early 80s that the majority of music fans today wouldn't recognize the name Slayer anymore than Budgie. I don't mean that hardcore super metal fans would be unaware, but even my mom knows who Slayer is, and I think that indirect association is directly related to Metallica's commercial success.
