FTD - do you even listen to this stuff? And to use Megadeth is ridiculous. RiP is closer to the S/T album than it is to Reload. Furhtermore, Reload is closer to Risk than it is to RiP.

Framing things in a certain way to prove your point is the same as lying. Choose a dumber audience or up your game. Megadeth made entrance music for professional wrestling.
I actually think that it's closer to Super Collider:

I think "Crush 'em" was written for Goldberg. Or it at least debuted with him (was my understanding - my knowledge of WCW is slim).

I agree that metal is more often guilty of being redundant. I wouldn't say Mastodon are intolerable though.

So if you listened to a Slayer album, you might actually prefer them.

Might, but probably not.

I would have to agree. Metallica has always appealed to a wider audience. They have an ability to write great instrumentals, ballads and groove thumping metal. I still hold their first four albums and Garage Days in very high regard. They definitely are more accessible to people looking for music more grounded in rock n roll, rather then thrash.

Not exactly sure why but Metallica has never really been that great in my eyes. Ride the Lightning is their best album, but I still wouldn't call it great. Slayers got 3 albums better than anything Metallica has ever done so Ill vote for them easily.
