Slayer. They are more consistent and never wrote a song like Nothing Else Matters.

In no way did I discover Slayer because of Metallica. In 1983 when I discovered both bands, they were both VERY underground bands. Venom were the kings of the scene then. I discovered BOTH Slayer and Metallica because of Venom.

Slayer; If it wasn't for "St Anger" than perhaps Metallica might take the lead, but that album was just trash, the worst metal album of that year even.
