i found one of their cd's at school called death cult armageddon. i dont know much about them but they kick a$$. i was just wondering if anyone liked them or knew of any other goth metal bands like them.

I enjoy listening to Borigr. They don't compare to Cradle (as Cradle is a bunch of bull****).

My favorite album would have to be "Enthrone Darkness Triumphant", and "For all Tid".

I have their Europhic Puritanical Misanthropia cd...i like them.....Death Cult Armageddon is said to be the best album which they have produced.

I have....S.B.D,P.E.M and D.C.A from Dimmu Borgir. I was at a friends house and we needed some Vidoes. Mourning Palace rules, kick@$$ song.

Wow these guys aren't bad. Downloaded 2 samples from them ('conjuration' and 'extreme form of hatred') Really nice style. But I still preffer Borgir. I think i'm gonna try get me a Cd from these guys.

its a good band only the lead singer sounds like hes high, half dead cat, breathing helium

so does the singer from cradle of filth, not ALWAYS neccesary.

Whenever I see someone saying they don't like a band, I try to see why they would think so, but honestly, I see no fault in Dimmu. Sure, they may not have that old "Tr00" black metal sound, but they don't play absolute ****, not like Cradle (horrible). Their also the perfect gateway band for people to get into black metal. Dimmu lead me to Old man's Child, lead me to Satyricon, to Emperor, to Immortal, and so on. They don't slack off either. I mean, Cradle, I think, had some more interesting stuff back then (Cruelty and the Beast was alright), but now it just sounds like half-ass goth-core.

I'm not gonna say that everyone's wrong for hating dimmu (if you do hate them, of course).

i enjoyed thier latest release in sorte diaboli. that album has some good tunes.

Dimmu Borgir is probably one of the most talented black metal bands out there right now.. if you have a REAL ear for music, you would appreciate them

Dimmu are quite cliched from what I have heard but I can listen to them as long as I don't have to look at them as they look a walking cliche (as do most bands of this ilk).

Dimmu Borgir are awful.

100% of the time when people like dimmu borgir, it's not for the ultra vague hints of their ancient quasi-hinted at relationship to black metal, it's for all the other nonsense they have going on. I wouldn't even care about this band at all except it gives people a bad idea as to what black metal is all about. It's just pop disguised as rebelious music for dark kids. A triumph of marketing more than anything else, quiet impressive actually that they could convince so many people that such tame pop music is "dark" and "evil" or whatever.

I don't think of Dimmu as "dark" or "evil." Come to think of it, I don't think any of the bands I listen to as "dark" or "evil." Are there actually people who think this? Where are they? Give me names! We'll round them up in concentration camps for their stupidity.


I like Dimmu Borgir for their music. Not because their black metal or not, or that their "grim" and "necro" or not. I think there are other black metal bands that beat Dimmu (Immortal, for one. "Diabolical Fullmoon Mysticism" owns). I dunno, maybe I just can't see why people have a problem with them. Is it because their popular? No offense, but that's kind of a *** reason to dislike a band. But to each his own.

There's nothing grim about Dimmu Borgir, they're like linkin park with black metal vox.

I don't recall saying I dislike them because they are popular. I do recall saying they are tepid pop, though, so maybe it would have been a safer bet to assume that's why I don't like them. Really they aren't even a band I think about that much, they aren't the worst, their are worse examples of bands trying to milk the underground, Nokturnal Mortum comes to mind.

That's a pretty lousy argument anyway. I like plenty of very popular bands.

Not much to say about the music but they are absolutely rediculous live. I am excited to see them when they play near me this fall. Its like watching a train wreck. Its so horrible but you just GOTTA watch!

I'm giving Enthrone Darkness Triumphant a listen at the moment. The first track is a strong opening for a great album. I don't want to say it's flawless, because all albums have some flaws, but this album is very strong in a lot of ways.

It's been a long time since i've listened to Dimmu Borgir, so it's sounding more incredible to me since I don't listen to them all that often. I should change that though, I forgot how much I like them.

I think it is incredible that they have a full orchestra and choir in their live shows. Their new stuff might offend some trve kvlt heads but they sure do put on a kickass show

I agree, its pretty strong album as far as Black Metal goes, particularly Mourning Palace. Its been a while since I've given it a spin, but I remember it being quite good.
