Well, you see... you sort of contradicted yourself in that last sentence. You claimed that Link Wray is a contender for being an influence on punk rock, but then you contradict yourself by saying "his influence was in rockabilly, not punk." Which is it?

You also contradicted yourself here:

And (kind of) here:

Now, let's find someone who was an actual punk, not just someone who got called one cause they had a similar attitude that would be part of punk.
As Tuna stated earlier... how can we hold your opinion over "some random critic's" when you (essentially) are on as well.

So... I can't really trust any of your arguments when you make all of these contradictions. Try to form a solid opinion...

EDIT: Now let it go and move on with your life.

People are always going to disagree upon certain things, and with the creation of punk being a murky area, there will definitely be a few.

Numerous other bands should/could be in the discussion, but sticking with the topic, The Ramones came before The Sex Pistols. Had the New York scene not happened, there probably never would have been a Sex Pistols, Clash, etc....

That's an interesting concept, if you consider Keith Moon's style especially. Defiantly a major influence.
