Generally, I'd tell someone that wants to get into rock to start with Sabbath or Hendrix.
I guess I would give them different advice depending on their current preferred genre, though. Classical or Jazz (not that I'm saying the two genres are closely related): Maybe Dream Theater, Tool, or Devin Townsend's "Ki". Pop: Devin Townsend's "Addicted" (I almost feel like I'm kissing DT's ass, but wth, he deserves it) and... sorry, nothing else comes to mind as far as that. Rap and Hip-Hop: I'll just kill them for listening to that garbage... No, haha, Korn, Stone Temple Pilots, Godsmack (only because alot of my friends that like rap like 'em) I'd like to mention that I gave this close-to-0 thought... Thank you, SljSlj, for the most useless post of the day. |
