Default All-time Best Rhythm Guitarist

I know most of you in this forum will disagree with me, but my alltime favorite rythm guitarist is James Hetfield(worst singer)

let me know your all-time favorite.

Worst singer? You are crazy. I think the best Rhythm guitarist is the duo Janick Gers and Adrian Smith from Iron Maiden. They basically invented harmonizing with the guitar. Or it would Malcolm Young of AC/DC.

Never heard of Thin Lizzy? My classification of a rhythm guitarist is solely that. No solo's etc so that would mean both Smith and Gers discounted as they both play solo's.

I didn't know what I would say when I clicked on this thread, but since you reminded me of Maiden I'll go with that. Janick Gers and Adrian Smith created some truly addicting guitar riffs. It is hard to not enjoy the good Maiden songs because of them. Flight of Icarus anyday...

I would say Maiden uses more of a dual-lead/swap lead sort of style rather than a traditional rhythm/lead style.

It's hard to argue against Malcolm Young, he's one of the best at just rocking out the jam time and time again.

Default Keith Richards & Pete Townshend

The Rolling Stones & The Who, has produced some of the best rythm guitar ever, just my personal opinion.

Is this even a question? Hendrix is the king of rhythm guitar.

Hendrix is more of a jack of all trades, though...I kind of took this thread as best rhythm guitarist when there are two distinct rhythm and lead guitarists in the band.
