60's - Gratelful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Janis Joplin
70's - Led Zeppelin, black Sabbath, The Who (equally influential IMO)
80's - The Police, Van Halen, Dag Nasty
90's - RATM, Nirvana, Pavement
00's - Mars Volta, SOAD, QOTSA

80's-Tears for fears-(hey, go new wave!!)
90's-Oasis
00's- I thought it would be the darkness, but they kinda went flat, so..........coldplay? they did cause the whole keane thing

60's - The Beatles of course!
70's - Rolling stones (is that wrong) or Sex Pistols
80's - terrible decade - I have no idea
90's - Oasis or the verve
00's - Libertines, Patrick Wolf and Artic Monkeys (and all the others like killers, bloc party)

today- System of a Down, Nine inch nails(influential, but i don't like them), Green Day.
