Soundgardener 02-19-2005 10:23 AM

Sneer 02-19-2005 10:53 AM

oh i know!!

*Josie* 02-19-2005 11:40 PM

They sound similar to Jet, and the guy playing the drums looks like the singer in Thirsty Merc. It sounded okay!

Sneer 02-20-2005 02:03 PM

they sound nothing like jet...

*Josie* 02-20-2005 07:25 PM

I think it does.

dog 02-22-2005 05:19 AM

jet sucks, and if they sound like jet, 'the subways' suck too. but thats only if josies right.

dog 02-22-2005 05:21 AM

is "oh yeah" theyre only song? i didnt listen to it cos it only had the clip, not an audio file thing. o well.

Sneer 02-22-2005 02:40 PM

The guy kinda sounds like the lead signer in Jet, I still think the style of music is similar to Jets though.

shandapanda 07-13-2005 03:07 PM

okay!
i'm listening to the album on nme.com! it's really good! i've listened to a few songs by them and i can see now that they are just demos and you can hear that there's been work done on the songs, they sound different, better than the versions i've heard! briliant!

James Earl Jones 07-13-2005 04:12 PM

yeah they're pretty good....

where are they from?

shandapanda 07-13-2005 04:47 PM

i think they at least should be english....as far as i know.

ArtistInTheAmbulance 07-13-2005 04:51 PM

^Yep, Hertfordshire, I think... Theyre alright.. They can get on my nerves quickly though.

pastor of muppets 07-13-2005 06:18 PM

they dont sound like jet..... they kinda do the same things in some songs but they got a completely different sound IMO.......

Thwack 08-04-2005 08:24 AM

Ahh great stuff, some other Subways' fans! ADORING that band at the momment. Just got an edge over a lot of other bands that are out at the mo. Good choice =)

Imonlydancing 08-04-2005 08:33 AM

I like the subways, well what I've heard anyways.

welwyn garden city.

and this threads still going?!

mosesandtherubberducky 06-22-2006 12:23 PM

hahaha! uber bump

But I got one of their CD's last night and now I'm listening to it and they're pretty good. They sound like Jack White's guitar + a bass + the drummer from DFA79 and a vocalist with a thick accent.

bungalow 06-22-2006 12:24 PM

I saw them on Conan last night and they were horrendous.

swim 06-22-2006 12:31 PM

^They're crap live or you just don't like them?

I like what I've heard from them. I think their album's called Young For Eternity and I think it's pretty good.

British_pharaoh 07-16-2008 09:05 AM

Are so good they're really good

new album is everything the Ting Tings, Kooks, Razorlight , The Enemy and the other dross wish they could do

British_pharaoh 09-09-2008 05:59 PM

The Subways were second best at Reading Fest only to Rage

they are made for live performance and the new record is still getting a regular spin on my stereo.

again I was only about 2 rows from the front

GravitySlips 09-10-2008 11:27 AM

I've never listened to this band, I get the impression I wouldn't be that big a fan but who knows.

They're playing at Freshers week at my Uni...I'll probably go and see them. Moreso for the £1 drinks than the band itself, but hopefully they're good live like you say British Pharaoh.

With £1 drinks though it could be Gary Glitter doing a comeback gig and everyone would still have a good time...so I'm looking forward to it :)
