The one tolerable song CrazyTown did have is Butterfly. I remember how when it first came out everybody wanted to have that song played at some dance or other.

At any rate, Institute >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Bush.

I heard Gavin's song Adrenaline and I don't care for his solo work. It sucks.

_Spinning_ 12-29-2006 02:29 PM

Nothing CrazyTown ever did was tolerable. Butterfly was a crappy song with a sample of a good song thrown in, to make people think they had talent. Bush is average.

Merkaba 12-29-2006 04:43 PM

I loathe Crazytown and that piece of shit Butterfly, I probably hate it more than I hated that "How Bizarre" song from the 90's.

Bush are just noise. It's like going from driving a Ferrari (good music) to driving a Toyota Corrolla (Bush). Dull, bland, creates no feeling for anything, although there sure are a lot of Corrolla's out there.

Raine 12-30-2006 11:31 PM

^ I don't understand why so many people hate the song Butterfly. it was the best song on the album. And now I feel embarassed. I bought the album. :(

in any event, Bush had their moment to shine. They're music was average I suppose. But Gavin's project with Institute is f*cking amazing. Their live performances are pumped full of energy and the sound is way better than gavin could've ever hoped to produce with the guys of Bush.

DearJenny 12-31-2006 12:40 AM

I like Bush. Not on my FAVORITE list or anything, but I have some stuff and enjoy it from time to time.

Loser 06-19-2007 06:35 AM

Bush

A pretty sweet band from Australia with a very grungey, hard rock vibe. Sixteen Stone, is an ok album some good tracks on it but I would recommend their earlier stuff it's a bit more to my likeing.

Anyone else dig?

boo boo 06-19-2007 07:04 AM

I'm not big on them. I'm always distracted by the fact that Rosdale sounds more like Cobain than Cobain.

Frances 06-19-2007 07:09 AM

They're from England man.

Frances 06-19-2007 07:12 AM

and isn't 16 stone their first album?

Way to start a thread!

swim 06-19-2007 08:00 AM

I think 16 stone is pretty bad album. The singles are the best tracks and the others are meh. Razorblade Suitcase on the other hand is a good album beginning to end. (It was produced by Albini :D)

I'd also like to know what's earlier than 16 stone.

boo boo 06-19-2007 08:03 AM

So you hate Nirvana but like Bush. /=

I'm not dissing, I'm just saying. /=

swim 06-19-2007 08:05 AM

I never said I liked Bush. I said I like Razorblade Suitcase. It's the only Bush album I like. I've also said on several occasions how much I absolutely love Bleach.

alternativerock_music_fan 06-19-2007 08:27 AM

Bush isnt a bad band they have some really good songs.

chumb 06-19-2007 08:34 AM

Glycerine is a guilty pleasure... on the whole not too much to get excited about though.

alternativerock_music_fan 06-19-2007 10:06 AM

in my opinion i think "The Science of Things" was there best album or at least thats my favorite.

There demos before they made sixteen stone....They were pretty awsome, sadly they never reached an actual album.

swim 06-19-2007 03:57 PM

If you have them it would be cool if you upped them.

Sadly I don't have them....I heard them on a forum I was in....If I can find the link i'll post it for you.

alternativerock_music_fan 06-19-2007 04:04 PM

i never knew that had demos before sixteen stone

jackhammer 06-19-2007 06:16 PM

I think SIXTEEN STONE hold's up very well today and is very influential, although it is not acknowledged as so. Time for reappraisal methinks.

Phillyboy 08-15-2009 10:46 PM

I really liked 16 Stone. Of course they were "ripping off" Nirvana and Pearl Jam, but that was probably what they were listening to at the time and wanted to do. Gavin's lyrics kinda suck, but there just a good overall band, at least for that album.

I love the bass playing on this record to especially "Swim" and of course "Comedown" which is one of the most famous bass lines in the last 20 years, I think that part is very overlooked. Not the best band, but they don't deserve all the criticism they get on the net.

The singles were great, and there were a few other gems thrown in too like "Swim" and "Testosterone". It's the only album from them I would care to listen to, but I'm not upset about it and still listen to it everyonce in a while.

I think that accolade goes to the Foo Fighters, who grew out of the remanents of Nirvana and carried on their work in a more harmonic, positive and life-affirming style. Wheras Bush were a pretty cluless wannabe version of Nirvana.

I think where you`ve written the words "Ripping" and "Gavin`s lyrics kinda suck" says it all really. I find Bush probably one of the worst mainstream bands to have ever come out of the UK. When I think of Nirvana and Bush I think of gold and copper, when I think of Kurt Cobain and Gavin Rossdale I think of diamonds and brass.

I once read an interview with Gavin Rossdale, that stated that the group were not trying to copy Nirvana (which is laughable) but had instead based themselves on the Pixies (Sounds like Kurt here)........I find his references quite insulting to both either Nirvana or the Pixies.

I think either the group`s drummer or bass player used to be in Transvision Vamp......Now that`s something to be ashamed of.

I think Bush should`ve done the decent thing and that was to have simply passed themselves off as a Nirvana covers band.

I love grunge, especially the good stuff Nirvana, Soundgarden and Stone Temple Pilots etc

iWelcomeTheCycle 08-16-2009 03:54 PM

maybe it's because I am a child of the '90s, but I really enjoy grunge. Alice In Chains and Pearl Jam mostly.

Was never a huge fan of Alice in Chains but I recognize what a great singer Layne Staley was and see why people love the group. As for Pearl Jam...Well its kind of what could`ve been really. Great singer and great musicians and one or two good albums but the vast majority of their material could be classified as dodgy sounding:yikes:

Still made at least 6 great songs. Don't really care bout the posing, long as they can play it right.

If you can name the 6 songs, I`ll dig em out and give em a whirl.
