Black Metal techniques?
Hello people of MB.
In this topic I would like as you, black metal guitarists, how do you compose your scales, chords, arpeggios and everything else? I don't mean the *** stuff like Dimmu Borgir and most of the modern BM bands. I mean the old stylish BM like Burzum.

Hmm.
My group played blackened grind, but we never really wrote songs... we'd just figure out a riff and go from there. As Jon Chang put, it [slayer x 4] [grind x2] [slayer x6] [grind x4] etc. - slayer being riff oriented parts, grind being the caustic, smacking the symbols like a stepchild moments. We combined that with the time honored practice of stealing riffs from other bands, preferably punk. |
