I used bearshare for a while - the one that is supported by ads.. DO NOT - i repeat - DO NOT use those ad-supported ones.. my computer has cost me time and money because of all the virus I got.. nothing helps - no firewalls or antivirusprograms ever help.. right now I dont have a computer of my own to use, because my own is so ****ed up..

its just an advice..

but I am never putting it on my computer again.. of all the programs kazaa or bearshare is best.. free but they give virus..

Out of the filesharing programs I've seen:
WinMX- pretty reliable, safe, no ads, easy. Not the best selection, but safe.
Kazaa/Kazaa Lite- better selection, but annoying spyware, tends to slow down your computer, can get viruses, hackers, etc. I wouldnt recommend it. It crashed my hard drive a while back.
Limewire- FAST FAST downloading and good selection. But slows down your computer, tends to f*ck minor things up.
Soulseek- My pick. Easy, reliable, safe, can find good music.
Bearshare- has the same perks and problems as Limewire and Kazaa.
