I`ve always thought that one of the reasons Hendrix has always been considered rock rather than RnB is because he is a guitar hero & rock music is more guitar based than R&B.Not so much then but definetly now.

I`m not saying Hendrix isn`t a rock artist , but at the same time you can`t ignore that his music was based in R&B.
you can say that about all black artists i suppose- which is ok becuase essentially it is their roots. i personally see hendrix as more rock than RnB but i see your point.
