Default Worst voice in rock music?

I have to say, despite my love for The Jam, that Paul Weller's voice really isn't that good. It's very bland and dull. Eric Clapton also isn't very capable as a singer IMO.

What do you think?

I've never been very impressed with Jack White's singing. Clapton isn't a very good singer I'll agree but he is capable.

I don't mind Jack White's style so much. It can be wicked abrasive, and in parts, just annoying, but I think his voice on Consolers of the Lonely by the Raconteurs was really good.

Jello Biafra's voice used to really get under my skin, but somehow it grew on me.

Isaac Brock's (Modest Mouse) style annoys the fuck out of me.

And as much as I love his work, Les Claypool should have really let somebody else sing when he covered Pink Floyd's Animals with his Fearless Flying Frog Brigade. He's not much of a singer, but he does have a distinctive voice that just seems to fit most of his work. But he kind of butchered the high parts in "Pigs (Three Different Ones)".

J. Mascis from Dinosaur Jr. His voice is just waaaaaay too quiet and abrasively whiny.

And Nickelback, here's a hint. Your donkey is out of tune.

His singing was so bad on the group`s debut album, that he actually went for singing lessons (So I`ve read) Even after the lessons.....he still sounds pretty ****e.

Psh, you only mentioned Isaac Brock to get under my skin, didn't ya?! =P I second your bit on Mr. Claypool and Biafra.

I can't really think of a vocalist that gets on my nerves at the moment. Isis' vocals used to ruin their albums for me. It wasn't until Wavering Radiant that I started to appreciate it. OH, and fuckin' James LaBrie just needs to stop. I can't stand his voice. In my opinion, he ruins the whole band.

No, but I did look up the line up to find out what his name was.

Seconded.

Austin Winkler from Hinder is everything that's wrong with music. Saying that he "wants to bring back rock n' roll to it's true roots" meaning that he wants to bring up the 80's heavy metal scene. His lyrics depict a lonesome **** rocker complaining about some bitch who doesn't want him. I truly don't understand how anyone could like this "band".

What's the difference between him and Chad Kroeger again?
