Another nominee from me would be Ian Curtis from Joy Division.
Now I'm not sure if he's supposed to sound like a moose in a coma but I don't want anything to do with it.

i'm surprised no one has mentioned Brian Molko. a lot of people i know hate his voice, but i love it. a lot.
Billy Corgan's voice can grate on me a bit, i'm a fairly casual Pumpkins fan anyway but couldn't see myself taking his voice in any more than small doses. apart from that, there aren't many others i could think of. |

I like Billy Corgan's voice too, I didn't take kindly to Ian Curtis's voice at first but it's a grower.
I like unusual voices. It takes something really bad to get on my nerves. But indie artists manage to do this time and time again. Joanna Newsom, Patrick Wolf, Devandra Banhart, Isaac Brock, Matt Berninger and Antony Hegarty being the main offenders. And also whoever sings for Clap Your Hands and Say Yeah, good f*cking god. |

Austin Winkler from Hinder is everything that's wrong with music. Saying that he "wants to bring back rock n' roll to it's true roots" meaning that he wants to bring up the 80's heavy metal scene. His lyrics depict a lonesome **** rocker complaining about some bitch who doesn't want him. I truly don't understand how anyone could like this "band".
