Elvis once said, "Ambition is a dream with a V8 engine." He was very ambitious even after he made it big.

But pretty much after the '68 comeback special he had lost most of it due to the people that surrounded him and his pill popping. When you started hearing the 70's love ballads from him you knew there was nothing left in him.
