Top 5 Thrash Metal Drummers
1. Dave Lombardo - God of the double bass, and revolutionised real thrash metal drumming
2.Vinnie Paul - Great technique 3. Lars Ulrich - Basically invented thrash metal. And Justice For All is amazing. 4.Nick Menza - Another great drummer with great technique 5. Paul Bostaph - The Formation of Damnation's drumming is epic, espeacially in F.E.A.R |

Phil 'Philthy' Taylor is rarely mentioned regarding hard assed drummers. Brilliant drummer. Mario Duplantier from the French band Gojira is ridiculously good.

1. Dave Lombardo. In my honest opinion one of the greatest drummers of all time.
2. Rat Skates. Has a fairly complex technique for a thrash metal drummer. Also pretty much the most important person in Thrash Metal history. 3. Lars Ulrich. Brilliant drummer, with And Justice for All and Death Magnetic both featuring some AWESOME double kick. 4. Paul Bostaph. To take over from Dave Lombardo and not look comeplety ****e by comparison, you have to give the guy credit. 5. Joey Jordison. One of the fastest drummers I have ever seen. Calling Slipknot thrash metal may be a long shot, but hell, it's more accurate than half the **** they have been tagged with in the past.

They're nu metal. They have all the standard nu metal traits. The guitars are standard groove metal. They make use of variations of being loud/quiet like the Pixies. The vocals alternate between melodic and screamed. They even have the hip hop element. |

Dave Lombardo, Paul Bostaph are in a league of their own
But to pick another three from the flock i find quite difficult to differentiate I like Tom Huntings drum sound, but whether i'd say he should be in the top 5? Poss not. Lars Ulrich gets a lot of flack for his drumming although i can't understand why, i like his style regardless I honestly don't think there are many thrash drummers up there with Bostaph and Lombardo Saw Gojira earlier this year, they are a very talented band as a whole |

Concur with Lombardo, who's one of my favorites of all time. Lars is good, but overated, and not in the same ball park as Lombardo. Some other guys that I think are in his league are...
Gene Hoglan - Dark Angel Igor Cavalera - Sepultura Gar Samuelson - Megadeth
