Heaviest bands you've heard?
I'm going to throw out 10. I'd do youtube embeds for all but some aren't up.
1. Crowbar 2. Cathedral/Black Sabbath (because I can't pout a Doom band in without B.S) 3. Hail of Bullets 4. Meshuggah 5. Suffocation 6. Cannibal Corpse 7. Bolt Thrower 8. Obituary 9. Turmoil 10. Chimaira (some severely heavy riffs in places) k, your turn. |

Sunn O))) weird pick pillow!
my number 1 has to be Burning Witch-insanely slow and hard to count the beats. awesome vocals, totally original. thats it. heaviest band I can think of. when I first heard them I was like "what can be more brutal than this!?" haha

Burning Witch is pretty extreme.
If you haven't heard it, get Warhorse's 7" "I Am Dying" their album "As Heaven Turns to Ash" is extremely heavy...I Am Dying kills it though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWcuryqDnNw |

Live, it would be Impending Doom. They literally shook the floor.
But just listening it would have to be probably Behemoth.
