I second that band! Bolt Thrower are almost laughable and not that heavy at all IMO. I think there are many similar posts regarding this subject and I think it's as much about intensity as a wall of noise. Anyone can be noisy as fuck but it still needs focus.

...not to mention how many bands use drum machines or use a double bass pedal on each bass, and combine that crap with triggers.

I would have to say Anaal Nathrakh. His vocal chords have to be indestructible or something. His screaming doesn't sound like an "effect" it sounds like literal screaming... I love it

Cetic frost... They haven't ever been known to be a really heavy band, but there album "Monothiest"(2006) was very very heavy. I was surprised when I heard it. One of my fav albums.

I wouldn't say Celtic Frost is one of the heaviest bands around. I enjoyed Monotheist (Especially "Obscured"), but not for its heavyness.
