i would say that you havent looked hard enough. There is plenty good hiphop out there if you look that's not about cliches. Try Mr Lif, Murs and EL-P. Not bitches etc but real life. Same with 'emo'. You've got to wade through the crap to find the good stuff, as with most music.

Metal Head, if Beckmn thinks that old rap is good, then why must you call him an idiot for standing up for his opinion? I'm sure that Martin Luther King Jr., John Lennon and other strong people in history are idiots, too?

Besides, old rap isn't bad in my opinion. I *personally* don't prefer it, though....

I doubt that saying saying someone is an idiot for liking a genre of music correlates to MLK or John Lennon.
