I chose Angela Gossow. She has only vocal I could actually listen to for any extended period of time (read:more than one song maximum). I prefer Death Metal over the whole operatic style that female Metal singers usually perform, so I guess its natural I'd choose Gossow

Angie...Wouldn't it be funny if one of the finalists in "America Idol" was a singer like her.

I notice that she's sort of coming from behind in the poll.

C'mon. There are some real kick-ass women singing right now (and I'm not just saying that in some show of sisterly support). I agree Amy Lee's not quite right for a metal list; how about Maria Brink? Lizzie Hale?
Okay, maybe they're not your style, but ... I love Lita Ford. Don't get me wrong. But... dude. She was in the Runaways. Surely someone better's come along since then? |

My favorites actually could've been Lzzy Hale, the girls from Kittie, the girl from Otep, the girl from In This Moment, and all the girls from Vixen (jk jk with the Vixen :P ). Since they're not on the list, I guess I'll have to go with Lita. She always rocked and was always "dressed to kill"
One of the most underatted female vocalists in one of the most underatted bands. ^^ Wait...The Plasmatics were metal?? O_O I saw them as a punk rock band (a hardcore punk rock band at the most) Eh? The Runaways rock! And Lita had a lot to do with the quality of their music. Being one of the few great female guitarists in her hey-day that can sing and write songs and totally kick ass, I can't see why she can't be on the list. ^_^ What's wrong with The Runaways? Don't like sexy bad-ass jailbait girls singing about being...sexy badass jailbait? lmao |

Nothing at ALL wrong with the Runaways (except, perhaps, for the movie version, but I haven't seen it yet). My point was that surely there have been other vocalists and maybe even better ones in the past however many years. Every now and then, new is better than the old.
