i do agree that they had a more unique package and did their own thing unlike many of the bands in their genre at the time. i really respect them.

As a hair metal singles band, they were the best. They knew how to produce a tight and heavy melodic metal song, like few bands could. I love to shuttle through 10-12 songs like Dr. Feel Good, Shout at the Devil, Kick Start My Heart etc. Album wise I'd rank them close to the top...Pyromania > Cinderella -Night Songs > Ratt - Out of the Cellar > Skid Row - ST > Shout at the Devil.

I find Mick Mars gets better with time and his best stuff comes in Dr. Feelgood and Girls, Girls, Girls.

'Shout At The Devil' scared the shit out of me when it came out and it still has a place in my heart today. Urban's right about there being just enough punk attitude to keep it (and previous album) from being standard arena-friendly hair metal. It is close though.
