They had lasers and everything from what I remember. I loved the fact that they also light up the floor of the stage, so that it's not just the screens behind them, but the entire thing.

If anyone else is also looking for a new Tool-esque band you might want to check out the supergroup Soen. It's made up of Martin Lopez, former drummer from Opeth, Steve DiGiorgio bass player for Death/ Testament/ Iced Earth/ many other metal bands, Joel Ekelof vocals from Willowtree, and some guy called Kim Platbarzdis. Decent pedigree behind it and the music itself is a pretty top notch imitation of Tool and Opeth.
