Yeah, like Big3 said they predate the whole nu metal thing.
I love Incubus, who use "nu metal" riffs I guess, and SOAD. Nu Metal is a word people just like to use now to completely write stuff off, several of the better bands who are unfortunate to get stuck with the nu metal label is stuff I'd call "alternative metal". |

That is good news. But it's bad news they're just now starting. It'll be a few years before we see it!
And did the author really use the term "math rock" in that article?

Not one to read 256 posts made over a period of 6 years, I'm going to go ahead and say that I enjoy listening to Tool, but in order to begin listening to them I need to be in the mood to listen to them. If I'm not in the mood "I want to listen to Tool", I can't listen to Tool. No idea why and it's one of the only bands that does this to me, but yeah. Anyone else have this issue?
Nice to see a new album's in the works, though.

Awesome. But yea, you're right, if they're just starting then it's going to be a while. We're used to that with Tool though.

I gotta agree with the notion that they reward those of us who are patient, though...

Oh I'm always patient. I was just trying to point out that if they're now just starting, I wouldn't be surprised if the gap between 10,000 Days and the next one will be larger than we've ever seen before. It's already been 4 years as of next week. (hard to believe really)
