^ seriously i dont understand the fuss over him selecting love will tear us apart as number one, it is a great song and like jibber continuously points out, it is personal opinion. Personally, if I was gonna go with Joy Division, I woulda picked Decades or Isolation.

I like personal opinion - cos variety is the spice of life! :D

Yeah - music is about as subjective as it gets tbh - must get around to thinking about my list!

No we get it. I think the original comment was intened to be heard with a humerous tone. And I knew everyone was gunna jump on their high horse so I figured I'd back the kid up.

Why isn't it his personal opinion that he questions the winner? Hatemonger took it was better than everyone else involved. You took an easy argument, don't be pissed when we don't let up easily.

Of course he can express his opinion that joy division shouldn't be at the top. However, when someone expresses it as a definite fact that a band doesn't deserve to be considered the best, as he did, it closes the door for any kind of intelligent debate or discussion. If you hate the list, say so, and back it up with reasons why you hate it, seeing as how urbanhatemonger took the time to type out why he liked the songs. Don't just post a one line statement saying that a band sucks, without any reasons as to why you support that statement. Otherwise the forums get even more clogged with mindless, baseless arguments that look as though they've been written out by 12 year old whose only tools of debate are the words "that band sucks". The forums are already filled with annoying kids going around in circles insulting eachother's tastes in music without ever giving any opinions other than "you're an idiot if you like this band", and "no, you're an idiot if you don't like this band". Tell me that I'm overreacting, tell me that I need to lighten up, but frankly, I'm sick and tired or reading over threads with absolutely no substance to them, and seeing users take time and effort to spark discussions by listing reasons why they like a song or band and getting nothing but completely useless replies.
