Innovative? Hardly. The only thing that made them stand out was Ice T fronting them. Living Colour were an all Black band working their schizz out of America in the mid 80's and successfully fused genres in a cohesive sound. Other bands such as Suicidal Tendencies were far more innovative and brought fans in from Punk, Hardcore, Metal and Hip Hop to far better effect. I have always thought Body Count were more of a side project that just happened to break big at the time.

I quite liked the first album when it came out.
By the time the second one came out it was pretty obvious they were just a novelty act and I lost interest.
