All jokes aside, I'd have to call Mellon Collie the Pumpkins heaviest album... there are a couple of tracks where Corgan growls and the guitars really whir out of control.... the heaviest stuff I've ever heard by them, but not a heavy album per se... just features quite a few heavy moments....

Not brutal by the standards of this thread. But those are all excellent albums nonetheless, particularly Messengers. I don't get into too much ridiculously heavy stuff, so these fit me nicely.

IDK if this sounds stereotypical but I really like all of As I Lay Dying's stuff.
