Ah my bad...

Well I would say Drudkh are actually pretty well off/popular in the BM scene, especially in the underground scene. They have I would say a cult-like following, which is enhanced by the members being missing from society barring the releasing of the music...

Damn fine band

My knowledge of black metal is quite limited but without doubt the mood will hit me to listen to more of it one day. I`ll add Drudkh to a very long list that I have.

I don't know anything about Velvet Cacoon. What is it about the guy that makes him a pillick?

He (lead singer) always goes on about how everything is a joke and released a couple other local bands (My Violent Ego) as his material, just to piss people off. Which one is retarded and two plagirising. Then release demo's and albums that didn't exist.

He basically created Velvet Cacoon to deceive people and to satitrise the BM scene and all involved in it.

Ah. Slight re-phrasing. He told everyone that he had released a few demos and that they were ultra-rare and only a few select friends had and that if people did stuff for him or something that he would give them a copy. Then the close friends who he stated had copies of these rare demo's came out and said that they had no such demo's. Then when questioned about it he admitted to it and said he did it just for fun and to mess around with people.

That's actually pretty funny.

This might clear some things up. Very interesting interview:

Probabaly really stupid but I don't believe much of what he says.

Anyway, whatever his deal is, it is pretty irrelveant, Geneivive was a great release and still is.

Josh/SGL (probably the only real member of VC) seems to be little more than an internet black metal troll but yeah, the atmosphere that was created with “Genevieve” was definitely something special. Laudanum, the title track and Avalon Polo would have to be my favourites. I hear a ton of MBV ‘Loveless’ influence here..
‘Northsuite’ is their one other release pretty close to this caliber IMO and is really the perfect type of thing for driving in a dark, rainy night.

I see a new album by Clair Cassis featuring Velvet Cacoon member(s) is available for pre-order at Full Moon Productions now… could be interesting.

Some all-time bm favourites that are most important to me…

BURZUM – first 4
BEHERIT – Oath of Black Blood, Drawing Down the Moon
EMPEROR – up to and including In the Nightside Eclipse
SARCO***O – INRI
MORTUARY DRAPE – All the Witches Dance
MASTER’S HAMMER - Ritual
HADES - ..Again Shall Be, The Dawn of the Dying Sun
HAVOHEJ – Dethrone the Son of God
IMMORTAL – Pure Holocaust
WEAKLING – Dead As Dreams
DRUDKH – Forgotten Legends, Autumn Aurora
ALCEST – Le Secret EP
ABSURD – Facta Loquuntur
DESTORYER 666 – Unchain the Wolves
BESTIAL WARLUST – Vengeance War Til Death
GRAVELAND – Thousand Swords, Following the Voice of Blood
ILDJARN - Det Frysende Nordariket, Forest Poetry
TORMENTOR – Anno Domini
BLASPHEMY – Fallen Angel of Doom, Gods of War
GRAND BELIAL’S KEY – Mocking the Philanthropist, Judeobeast Assasination
PESTE NOIRE – Macabre Transcendance demo, La Sanie des siecles
FULLMOON – United Aryan Evil demo
DARKTHRONE – A Blaze In the Northern Sky, Under A Funeral Moon, Transilvanian Hunger

Though I’m really missing a whole pile here…
