To me, if a song is disposable, it was never really good in the first place.

I used to listen to Limp Bizkit, I now acknowledge that their music sucks.

I used to be heavy into Nirvana, but while I don't really listen to them anymore, I still consider them a great band and I can still enjoy their music when I listen to it.

That's exactly the type of thing I mean when I say people are too possessive.

What's wrong with enjoying it for what it is?

Eh, we just have different ways of viewing music.

I mean people always say things like "it's a bad song but I love it"

Well, if you love it, then how can it really be a bad song?

Gulty pleasure is a real silly term when you think about it, if I truly felt guilty for liking something, I wouldn't be listening to it.

I have a question, and I want you guys to be completely honest.
If Incesticide (Nirvana's album released after Nevermind whcih contained recordings from the when they were trying to find drumers before they found Dave Grohl before Nevermind was released) had the publicity that Nevermind had, and Nevermind got the publicity Incesticide received, but still contained the same songs which one would you truly be more proud to say you like? Would you dismiss Incesticide due to its publicity?

The difference is Nevermind is pretty consistant throughout while Incesticide is half brilliant songwriting and half WHAT THE F*CK IS THIS?

The only weak track I found on that one was New Wave Polly.. do we really need a terrible rendition of an otherwise decent Nevermind song?

You just wipe with it once and then flush.

I actually liked that version more than the Nevermind one (which is my least favorite track from that album).

But anyway. Aneurysm is a goddamn work of a genius, it's the best thing Kurt ever wrote.

Dive, Been a Son, Sliver and Stain are also great. Downer and Big Long Now are pretty good. The 3 cover songs are decent but they don't really sound suitable for Nirvana. They sound, dare I say it, Green Day-ish.

Aero Zeppelin is meh. And Beeswax, Mexican Seafood and Hairspray Queen. All I can say for those are just WTF.

The only ones I don't like off of Incesticide are Big Long Now, Aero Zeppelin and Hairspray queen. I love Beeswax and I have to agree Anuerysm is easily one of Kurt Cobain's best written songs.

I love the Vaselines covers but the Devo one is below average and Stain has an insane guitar solo.
I can see were you are coming from by calling the cover songs Green Day-ish, they seemed a lot more Pop-y than a lot of Nirvanas other stuff.
Dive and Sliver are up there with my favorite Nirvana songs though, next to Oh, The Guilt.
