The problem I have with "christcore" is the name itself. I don't see how the band members just happening to be christians deserves an entirely new genre. I mean, whats next? Jewcore? Agnosticore? Nihilicore? Why should a band's belief system give them an entirely new genre?

I agree with mr. dave in that a bands religion or belief system shouldn't matter at all. Keeping on the topic of hardcore bands that just happen to be christian, I used to listen to Showbread. They were a kind of sludgy, hardcore punk band with synthesizers that I liked. They really didn't make a big deal about their faith, the only noticable thing being that they performed at a few churches (which confuses me, I can't picture a church letting them play).

I've had annoying experiences with "christcore" (I do admit that saying christcore or christian hardcore is easier then saying hardcore band that happens to be christian). I've met quite a few people who are really into hardcore, but are only allowed by their parents to listen to christian hardcore bands, or even worse, only christian bands in general.
