"Local" Rock/Metal on Myspace?
 

Being in a local band myself, I'm kind of big on checking out and supporting other bands that are still at the "local" level, and most bands are on myspace these days, but it takes a lot of time to weed out the ones that aren't worth your time.

I thought maybe you guys would be interested in sharing some links to some good "local" or lesser-known rock & metal bands.

And, as I'm in a band myself and am curious, what details draw you to a local band? I've heard far too many people shun local music and refuse to even give it a chance until the band's got something wrapped in cellophane available at Best Buy.

Raging Soul - Power Metal. A guy I know plays there. But they don't have tracks with vocals on their site. Only instrumental demos. But in live performances they have female soprano vocals.Please listen to their tracks on Myspace. My favourite is Gathering Storm.

Ocularis Infernum - Erotic Black Metal (sounds weird, but that's it). I personally don't like it. But many guys do.

Just checked out Raging Soul now and I like what I hear! I'm curious to hear what it sounds like with vocals, but at the same time I like the songs that are posted as they are. I've kind of always had a soft spot for metal instrumentals.

I would give you her personal vocal demo, but the guys didn't allow me to do so. Sorry.

This is the band that I play bass/backing vox in with my brother on guitar/lead vox, and a friend on drums.

Threads like this are usually a bad idea because they just become a magnet for spammers.

If what, I did't spam. I posted the most decent of local bands. In fact, we have tons of crappy grindcore and black metal bands.

No I mean people coming in here and making one post that says 'check out my band blah blah blah'

Oh, ok. We can just make a rule that denies to post your own bands.

There already is one and it applies to the whole forum.

What i'm saying is that threads like these bring more of them to get rid of.
