I think Korn influenced a lot of the later nu metal bands like Linkin Park and Limp Biscuit. I liked their Issues album and was super keen on them back in the day. These days I hear their music and it doesn't sound as great to me mainly because of Jonathan Davis's whiny vocals.

System of a down are still a favourite of mine and I also would consider them alternative metal.
