That is one of the exact reasons I consider Alice In Chains as the best band from the grunge era. Even better than Cobain and Grohls harmonies I might add.

Godsmack is miles beyond Disturbed, which is miles beyond Slipknot. Now, Godsmack may fall short of 'great', but they're definitely 'not bad' if not 'good'.

There are at least 5-10 songs I can name that I enjoy...

It doesn't seem like this thread is about the discussion of Nu Metal anymore, mostly because Nu Metal is one of the worst genres of music ever conceived.

Some of the Nu Metal bands I like;

-Spineshank
-Drowning Pool
-SOAD
-(Infest) Papa Roach, not their current stuff
-Cold
-Adema
-Sevendust
-Deftones.

Have you heard Cold's latest album? I start listening to it then get distracted.

One of these days I'll finish it. Your list is similar to what I like and still listen to in nu metal

Oh add Korn to that list

One of the few I will defend is SOAD, alt-metal not nu-metal.

Deftones are cool, the rest of these bands are not.

Those are the only two from that list I like as well, and I would agree that both are alt-metal. I think Spineshank could have been better with their more industrial feel but the vocals suck something awful.

Disturbed are another one to add of bands that share a name with another band before them that has essentially been forgotten over time..

so far I got

Poison
Slaughter
Disturbed
Incubus
Slipknot

list is growing.

Its a sad day when a band like Godsmack is considered as being the best band!

But SOAD are not nu-metal, they`re alt-metal.
