"Big Truck" has to be one of the funniest song ever though.

I`ll listen and give my feedback.
Its really a matter of (personally) liking David Draiman's style of vocals or not.

I remember that the band "Godsmack" was formed and hit the music scene around the same time "Disturbed" did in the mid 90s. I don't think Godsmack ever actually produced as much popular music as Disturbed did though. They kinda faded away not long after their debut, when compared to the ongoing popularity of Disturbed.

I always liked "Keep Away" and a few other songs by them.

Godsmack always seemed like they were trying their hardest to be Alice in Chains to me.

True, their name says it all. The vocal harmonies of Staley and Cantrell can never be reproduced imo

I actually did go back and listen to a couple of Disturbed albums and to be honest I found the whole experience to be quite harrowing and they were worse than I actually remembered them to be, but being a nice guy, I decided not to come back on here and slag them off piece by piece.

As for Godsmack, well urrrr hmmmm ahhhhh.......I suppose whatever rocks your boat really.

If you like both Disturbed and Godsmack, well your stock on here is really starting to go down.

Godsmack isn't nu metal at all. Not even with their first album. They are alt metal/rock. Although their last two releases were relatively weak, their first three releases were really good. When Godsmack came out, there wasn't really anything else that sounded like it. The time period it came out was unfortunate, because the album was lumped in with all the nu metal. Even if they were trying to be like Alice in Chains (they weren't, and aren't), they sound nothing like them. Songs like Moon Baby, Keep Away, and Get Up Get Out are full of hooks, and there is nothing wrong with that because the songs don't lose their edginess. Catchy is not a crime. The success of a song like Voodoo only points the bands competence. Awake is a great album and Faceless is solid.

And for the record, Necromancer, Godsmack is still very very popular.

That Godsmack "The Other Side" EP is no more than their really bad attempt at re-creating "Jar of Flies" lol.

As you say, even the name came from a AIC track.

They are very, very popular? Are they as popular as Disturbed?

I'm not disputing the validity of your your statement, just asking how do you measure their current popularity?
