I love the way that the singer sings. It is syncopated like a drum beat and it's ****ing awesome imo.

The singer is obviously no Bruce ****inson or Rob Halford who he is desperately trying to copy and in my opinion he`s definately not a metal singer. The rest of the band seemed very average in their ability as well. Would I say this group were any better than Linkin Park?.........definitely not! |

remember-opinions vary.i still like limp bizkit, which will probably make me an object of ridicule.i even like a bit of coal chamber, which will no doubt make me an even bigger object of ridicule.
i like disturbed, although i often wonder how they managed to get so popular.decent but average in my humble opinion. |

I didn`t say Disturbed were not metal, just that they are a poor excuse for metal. They are like a watered down alcoholic drink, so that kids can drink it. Linkin Park are equally bad, the point I was making, is that its sad when these bands are seen as being representative of metal especially when the genre has somewhere in the region of 20-30 different sub-genres. The main turn off was the singing and the singing is probably the dominant aspect of the group. As you said on another thread, music is subjective and so is my opinion here. I do find if strange, that somebody that has shown an appreciation of a unique band like Voivod on another thread, also finds a band like Disturbed to be talented and interesting!!! |

Killswitch Engage, All That Remains, As I Lay Dying, Hatebreed, Parkway Drive are all that`s bad about metalcore. Most people into metal bands from the 70`s through to the 90`s would probably see metalcore as the weakest sub genre to emerge band for band. Devildriver and Five Finger Death Punch are just inferior to Lamb of God and are just not in the same league. Soilwork are one of the weaker Swedish melodic death metal bands around Slipknot I don`t mind at all. If there are any albums by these bands, that you really feel I should listen to........point them out. |
