Alice in Chains followed by Soundgarden.
Quote:
And I only threw in STP because they started out their career by tagging on to the grunge sound. Core and Purple were excellent albums. After that, though.... the post-grunge Apocalypse befell the American consciousness and took Stone Temple Pilots with them. Or STP went along willingly because they still wanted to sell albums. Who knows? |

It's hard to pick one, so here's my current top 5.
1. Alice In Chains: my favorite band, out of all genres of music. 2. TAD: released 4 great albums - God's Balls, Salt Lick, Inhaler, and 8 Way Santa. However, if the Melvins are considered grunge, they'd be 2nd place. 3. Willard: only released 1 album (Steel Mill) but it's a very enjoyable piece of sludge. 4. Mother Love Bone: If one can call them grunge, then they're one of my favorite grunge bands. 5. Soundgarden: excellent band I never got into bands like Green River, Screaming Trees, etc. Their songs never grabbed me, though Mudhoney did have some good stuff like 'Halloween'.

Hmm. All of these bands are good, unsual album linup but okay. Usually I would vote for Alice, but I am hestitant with "Dirt", so I think somebody else deserves it. I would rather vote for Screaming Trees just to give them some credit, but I know that Ten is much better so thats my vote.
