Cool Stone Gods

The Stone Gods are a simple rock band coming from guess where? The UK. Three of the bands members are from the good ol' glam rock band The Darkness. Dan Hawkins (brother of well known Justin Hawkins.) lead guitarist. Richie Edwards whom of which is the leader of this new band.. who only joined the Darkness for a short while before they broke up. Toby Macfarlaine, whom of which is the base player which isn't bad I might add. Also my favorite member of the band; also of course does back up vocals. They now have a NEW drummer but I have no clue about him... yet.

It doesn't seem like they are going to make it off the ground but with time and if nothing happens with the band they have a good chance. Although personally I don't "dig" Richie's voice there is still something different about him that pulls people in. They are nothing like the Darkness as Justin isn't there with all of his glam and entertainment. The band is a darker but very mainstream rock band.

I did and here's my opinion: crap. Awful awful generic rock music that sounds like a pastiche to me and the lead singer looks like a young Rob Halford even down to the sunglasses.

I rarely say things like this about music but if this is all the UK can offer in terms of Rock music these days then it's a sad time

Haha I noticed the Rob Halford look as well. Richie's voice does some what seem forced, and there songs aren't as strong as they could be.

Clearly not the best band to come out of the UK, but by far not the worse. Although I would rather listen to Stone Gods over Nickel Back any day. I think with a bit of work, better lyrics and not so much of a lame drum beat they could be pretty good. I personally would like to see Dan Hawkins and Toby start a bigger and better band. I find Dan has the potential to be some one great, I think if he works at it and gets well known enough he would and should be come day consider to be a rocky legend.. but chances are nothing will work out.

What do you think?

I personally find there music to be crap for my metal/rock standers but I turely want to give them a chance as I do believe they deserve it for trying so hard.

Just a new singer, someone with emotion that drags people in.
