That was actually a lot different than I expected it to be. 6/10, they've got mad skill but it feels slightly unfocused.
I'm not sure how "metal" this really is, but there is something metallic about it. |

Yeah, I can see this. Its more along the lines of what metal started as, which was basically the heaviest stuff from blues rock, which was best exemplified in bands like Mountain, Deep Purple and Blue Cheer. Its cool, and being that this is the Rock/Metal forum, I'll give it some bonus points, although the thread is titled "Metal Battle".
7.5/10 I'm not much for the "****ty haircut, throw-my-guitar-around, A.D.D.-core" vein, mainly because we had more than our fair share of that where I'm from, but I dig this tune. Not to mention, this girl is a pretty ****in' good vocalist. |

Not bad. What I'm hearing so far reminds me a lot of Amon Amarth with like a mellowness kind of in the vein of Opeth's softer stuff. The drums are pretty much standard traditional metal stuff. How old is this?

That Kalmah song came out in 2002.
As with most CoF I find that I'd enjoy it more without the metal. I'll give it a 7/10 as its some of CoF's better material and they're sort of a guilty pleasure. Mithotyn are pretty epic. |
