I'm not much for Power Metal. I'm expecting theatrical vocals any sec.. and there they are. Is this that band with Michael Angelo? Vocals like this just kill the music for me. About the only band with that variety of vox I can stand is Maiden. 3/10 for tightness.

gojira is decent, i just dont like the vocals that much. From 2:20 on was really good though, and an interesting video 7/10
Maybe not "metal" but close enough for me: The fall of troy-Ex-creations

I really like this song, it's so original and the screaming sounds weird but awesome lol. 8/10.
YouTube - Silverstein - Born Dead (feat. Scott Wade) Not really metal either, but I'm gonna do rock/metal now...cause there is so much other stuff that I listen to but never post here lol. |

I dig the beats and riffs a lot. The vocals aren't my cup o' tea. Definitely a very talented band. I've never taken the time to listen to them. Kind of reminds me of lets say if The Mars Volta and 3 met in Psyopus's backyard. I'll give it a 7/10.
Oops. A little late on my post. I was replying to the Fall of Troy tune. |

well not my kind of band...sorry sack...but liked it more after the 3:00 minute mark, it was like leading to an explosion or something, maybe if the first part was a little tidier and then the big bang...3/10

The Silverstein tune, though. I've never taken any time to listen to them either. The opening riff and beat made me wonder why, and then the first vocal section was decent. But then the Pop Punk vocals came in and kind of ruined it for me. I can't stand that vocal style. It just reminds me of how bastardized punk rock has become. Everything else though was pretty cool. 4.5/10

RE: Anathema
Kind of bland. They melody is pretty catchy. Uh oh, this guy sounds like James LaBrie. Well, maybe if LaBrie had a little bit more balls. Kinda sounds like Queensryche with a more youthful edge. All around I can't say there's anything about this song that I find completely balls, but it's just not pressing any "**** yeah" buttons for me either. 5/10 |

7/10...the mini-breakdown sounds pretty cool lol.
Here's another Silverstein song...but this one pretty much doesn't have any pop-punk vocals...and is dominated by harsh inhale screaming (I think it's inhale). Easily their best song. |

More Power Metal? Oh ****! I could definitely ride a dragon to this. A song like this can never have enough lead. ****in' rippin', dude, but... the vocals. I know, I know. It's always about the vocals with me. Believe me. I know I'm very particular. But I do prefer this vocal style to the castrato that I was expecting. 7.5/10
