Critics = people who don't listen to metal but dig the chance to praise a metal album without actually having to listen to a real metal album. Same principle behind Isis, basically.

I'm not sure what the connection between music critics who like Opeth & ISIS is, other than that after listening to Opeth I've come to the conclusion they both need to die.

Blackwater Park is one big stingy prog rock turd.

I meant Isis as in the boring, post-metal band. Although calling a post-metal band boring is kind of redundant.

In all fairness...

The new Parkway Drive album is still better than their others were.

Stop taking a steamy dump on Opeth. They could take a lot of music from bands you both say are any better, and play that music better. I'm not crazy for saying that. Because those dudes know their sh*t, even though you dislike Opeth. Gotta start acknowledging a bands strengths even when you don't like them, makes a person look like a tool otherwise. I think you both could benefit from that, especially you Batty.

Them be fighting words. But bring it on.

I recognize Opeth's talent, I don't hate them because they're the Sex Pistols, I hate them because they're a boring prog metal band that puts me to sleep.

I enjoy music that is catchy and engaging, prog is more oriented to background music like jazz.

So why listen Opeth when I go Amon Armarth

That's better Will.

I like Opeth. But they get tiring. So I understand calling them boring.

Amon Armarth is great when I want to get pumped up or just jam out.

I'm not a big fan of prog in general, and the prog that Opeth plays bores the **** out of me, so I could care less how good they are at it. And they are inconsistently good at death metal, and almost never as good as bands I would much rather listen to.

So their strengths can go cram themselves up Opeth's boring, ****ty asses.

I never used to be a big fan of it either. But I dug deeper in the genre, found some bands that lit a fire under the genres ass and made something better out of it.

That'd be a gaping ass right there if they did that. As their strengths are many.
