Lately I've been listening to alot of Periphery, they are good and heavy, but yet they still have some good catchy stuff, similar to meshuggah in alot of aspects. I also really like Comity from France, they are kind of a neurosis and converge mix. No one really knows of them but they are really good, and their songs are long and interesting.

Well, for now maybe my question will sound stupid little bit... But ok, I will try...
It's question of one my czech friend who is fan of Linkin Park and Paradise Lost. And I try to find some answers for her.

Do you know some bands similar to Linkin Park? Or do you know some catchy metal which could be nice for fans of Linkin Park? I mean nothing progressive or complicated.
Thanks for some reply.

Hey there everybody I'm looking to introduce some metal into my music collection. So far I only have the progressive sounds of "Tool" which I love. I know there are a lot of recommendations in this thread already and I am previewing some of the bands mentioned. But if anyone could help me out with bands that are somewhat similar or compliments Tool in a metal band collection I would be grateful.

Tool are unique and I guess there isn't band like Tool.

Well, if you want progressive metal with some interesting lyrics, try band Pain of Salvation. As I know, lot of people like both bands.

Rishloo is such a Tool clone it hurts, but if you're after bands that sound similar then they're a good place to start. The only album I've heard by them is called Eidolon and it wasn't the worst thing I've ever heard, but I don't deal well with bands that are such flagrant carbon copies. You may fare better than me.

You should give The God Machine a listen, they only released two albums in the early 90's and they're both sprawling epics. They were kinda early contemporaries of Tool.

Maybe stuff like Godsmack or Soil may float her boat. If she likes the hybrid electronic sound bands like Senser may do the trick.
