When it comes to death metal, I don't really listen to it much. I do recognize its importance and respect the genre very much. Bands like Atheist and Necrophagist (just for examples) are pretty untouchable in terms of technicality. Personally, I attribute my lack of a taste for death metal to the difference in generations between myself and most MB members on this forum. I didn't grow up with death metal.
I didn't growup on it either, I aquired a taste for it later in life. There is a lot of great bands to come out of it.

Athiest is great, not a fan of Necrophagist though, I consider them wankers. Yeah it is techincal.
