If youre looking for a band with a great sound from a cool female vox then Lacuna Coil ain't too shabby
Queens of the Stone Age are the best ever ever ever (apart from Stonesour - ahem)

well these bands aren't along the female lines but they are the same genre or close.
The Bled, Bleeding Through, Black Veil, Blood Red Disciples, hmm In Fear and Faith, As I Lay Dying are all really good, some harder than others though. |

So I'm looking for some songs that are like Boston's "Peace of Mind"...something that is catchy and upbeat...but not too classic and light.

Also check out Stone Temple Pilots if you haven't already. (Everyone's heard of them, obviously.) If you don't buy their entire discography, get 'Thank You', a compilation with a great unreleased song -- 'All in the Suit That You Wear'.

I recommend Drain STH, an all female metal band from Sweden. They only released 2 albums, and appear disbanded. The first, Horror Wrestling, is the better of the two. Lyrics are similar to Alice In Chains. Of all the bands for a group of beautiful Swedish women to emulate...

I'm looking for new bands that have the 80's hair metal feel. Stuff that sounds a bit more on the GNR, Motley Crue side than the Def Leppard side.
