It doesn't matter what it means! It's provocative! It's makes the people rise up and...drop plates!

Is droppin' plates photographer lingo for the rule of thirds or something? Haha I know next to nothing about photography. I lost any respect I had for Disturbed after Mayhem. I wasn't expecting much, but the fact that Godsmack showed them up tells me they should never return from their "hiatus" when the tour's over.

It really doesn't matter if you agree with the author of this website (I certainly don't), but the articles are well written and they're hilarious, especially his review of his most recent Amon Amarth concert.

THAT'S NOT METAL

The kind of camera below uses plates instead of film:

I just thought the image of the guy from Disturbed using one of these cameras was amusing.

Ahh yes, they slide the plate in, there's a micro-explosion followed by a poof of smoke, and everyone enjoys their grainy black and white photo!

So which of these two is better and are they both essential nu-metal? Are they both the best albums of these respective bands? What are some other essential nu-metal albums by these and other bands?
You really can't go wrong with Slipknot. I will defend them to the death, even on MB. For Korn I would get either Follow the Leader or Untouchables. Linkin Park should just be avoided all together. I mean seriously, I hate them.

I'm hoping this doesn't spark an argument, but just so you know Slipknot is not nu metal (MAYBE their first album) so I wouldn't group them that way. It is quite unfortunate they came out when they did...there is a lot of talent in that band.

Static-X is a good recommendation to you as well (via hip hop bunny).

I honestly can't think of any "essential" nu metal albums though. I don't really think any of it is worth your time.
