I have a question. Sorry for my ignorance. I was never big on labels so i just have to ask this out of curiosity.

I'm sure many of you are familiar with Apocalyptica, a four piece cello band (the link leads to their video on youtube).

So, what do you call the genre of their music? is that instrumental? classic rock? classical?

thanks in advance.

I second that, a metal group that a lot of people don`t seem to know that well.

"neo-classical metal" is the closest definition, I guess

Anyone heard of Evildead? They're a great thrash metal band similar to Anthrax. I recommend you check them out. I suggest you listen to their 1989 album Annihilation of Civilization.

I remember Anthrax. I used to have this Testament shirt too, it was awesome. At some point I got into Type O....they were a big deal for a little while, I think. But nobody did it like metallca & megadeth....to this day, I've never heard anything like them. I remember hearing some similar stuff from like coheed & cambria and avenged sevenfold, and I thought for a sec, "holy crap, there's hope!", but that was only 1 or 2 of their singles. Most of their music sucks. Which is, unfortunately, the case with metal, now that the giants are gone. RIP.
