I just got "Agorapocalypse", and it's INSANE!!! Cephalic Carnage is a great grind band that knows how to mix things up...check out "Lucid Interval" and "Anomilies". A couple more top notch bands were Nasum and Brutal Truth, anything by them will do you fine. If you want to get out there on a limb, there's "Harvest Floor" by Cattle Decapitation, but it's pretty sic. Napalm Death has been very strong of late, Time Waits For No Slave, Smear Campaign, The Code is Red, Enemy of the Music Business all rank among the best of grind.

Thanks for the recommendations guys! I particularly like the GridLink stuff, which lead me to Discordance Axis which I also liked.

Anyone have any thoughts on some stuff that's not traditional grindcore but still has that noisy, spastic feel? Some examples:

An Albatross
Psychofagist
Lightning Bolt
Naked City (specifically the stuff with Yamatsuka Eye)
The Locust

If Apocalyptica, than try another metal bands with cello - Angher, Hevein.
Maybe you may try also Haggard, Therion, Diablo Swing Orchestra.

Emperor's In the Nightside Eclipse - This album is one of the greatest black metal albums of all time in my opinion and I think that's shared with plenty of people throughout the black metal world. I highly suggest it if you're into black metal.

Ancient Bards - Only have one release but its thought of very highly by power metal listeners. So I would suggest trying it out. Not sure if its your thing but you never know maybe you will dig it.

Avantasia - Another power metal band you might like that's very Symphonic.

Pathfinder - A brand new band making a lot of noise on the power metal scene.

Rhapsody of Fire - Yet another power metal band.
Thanks for the suggestions, I will be checking this out also. I'm going to have a pretty busy saturday going through these bands.

I already have some Epica in my collection also.

No problem. I'm not really a fan of power metal but those are bands I've listened to and think might appeal to you. Uh, yeah if you dig any of it though let me know and I might can hit you up with a couple more.

Does anyone know a good starting album for the band Moonsorrow? I happened to come across this song and I have to say, it's epic.

Any help would be appreciated.

Default new rock suggestions

Hey- this is my first post on this forum. woohoo!! I am looking for some new bands that I should get into!! I love classic rock and hard rock but most new bands just don't have that fist pumping ass kicking sound!! My all time favs are Motley Crue, Def Leppard, and Judas Priest. I also really get into Soundgarden and some of the more 90s grunge stuff like Alice in Chains. Never really got the Nirvana thing. As far as new bands go, i really like Bad City and EndeverAfter, but I'm looking for more!!! suggestion??

I had a post typed for that guy whose thread has been locked, I'm sure he'll be in here so I'll just post my post here instead.

Cauldron. They are a canadian Metal band that play very old school sounding music, but are a very new band. I think you'd enjoy them judging by your list. Also, alot of their songs have a chain based lyrical theme for whatever reason...

Thanks EvilChuck, Cauldron rules! They remind me alot of Dokken, almost too much, but I'm glad to see a band keeping that brand of metal alive.

If you like Crue and Def Leppard, you shouldn't have a hard time appreciating Bang Camaro. Just the first thing to pop into my head.
