Never heard of those guys.
Really enjoy the atmosphere and the rawness.
Thanks! I'll have to check them out.
Too bad the split seems to be their only release, although it seems they later became Potentiam, whom I also haven't heard. Yet.

They have two albums, actually, Phalanx Inferna and Imperium Damnatum. Glad you liked it though.

That's what I also thought at first, but this is the unrelated Austrian band, while the other one is Icelandic.

Anybody heard of Title Fight before? You guys definitely need to check em out! They have cool riffs, they mix heavy riffs with some good rhythms.

I'm just going to bulk list metal I love (I'll tag Asian stuff with an A, Scratch that tagging EU stuff with a U, because some of Asian bands have identical names to other EU bands), and hope someone knows of something I'd like, or more importantly, hasn't heard of the stuff I'm listing. I'm trying to break out into metal genres other than Powermetal currently. I'll try to list favorites first. Some of the Asian Metal listed is very obscure on sites like Youtube.

Dragonforce (U) - Inhuman Rampage
Galneryus (A)
Diablo Swing Orchestra (U) - They are more other genres than Metal, but whatever.
Cthonic (A), Taiwanese Black Metal
Machinae Supremacy (U) - Rise of a Digital Nation.
Marty Friedman (A), the guitarist for Megadeath. Its odd because I found his solo stuff first, and only really listen to his solo/ duo stuff not involving them. I just started listening to Megadeath 10 sec ago, because I just thought to..
Nightmare (A) - The World
Zigoku Quartet (A)
Takayoshi Ohmura (A) - Emotions in Motion. The first song has alot of riffs.
Tokyo Jihen (A)

5150 (A), Albion (A), The Algorithm (U), Animetal (A), Anthem (A), Area51 (A), At the Gates (U), AvelCain (A), Babymetal (A), Blitz (A), Bloodstain Child (A), Born (A), Ch'aska (U), Concerto Moon (A), Cross Hard (A), Cycle (A), Cynthia (A), D (A), D A M (U), Dark Avenger (U), Death Rabbits (A), Deathgaze (A), Decapitated (U), Derdian (A), Destrose (A), Dialectic Soul (U), Diesear (U), Eluveitie (U), Folkheim (U), Frosty Eve (A), Fumihiko (A), Gunhaioque (U), Gunbridge (A), Hibria (U), I AM I (U), Infinite Tales (U), Jupiter (A), Kamelot (U), Kissing the Mirror (A), Light Bringer (A), Lightning (A), Lilith (A), Masaaki Endoh (A), Mind of Asian (A), Minstrelix (A), Mistery Circle (A), Moi dix Mois (A), Myrath (U), Mykgrav (U), Nocturnal Bloodlust (A), Norther (U), Noveria (U), Oathean (U), Panther (A), Rentrer en Soi (A), Sadie (A), Samsas Traum (A), Sex Machine Guns (A), Virgin Killer (A), Skiltron (U), Skywings (A), Striker (U), Synk;yet (A), Syu (A), Turisas (U), Vandroya (U), Versailles (A), Wizards (U)

I ended up listing more than I wanted because I am bad at picking favorites. The stuff at the top is the stuff that stands out to me, but thats only because I found that stuff first. I love every band listed!

From the looks of the larger list underneath it seems you got into some Folk Metal, so I'll recommend a few Folk Metal albums/bands that didn't appear on your list. Try out Ensiferum's self-titled album and Iron, Forefather's album Steadfast, Manegarm's albums Vredens Tid and Vargstenen, as well as Bran Barr's album Sidh.

Since you liked At the Gates, try In Flames' EP titled Subterranean. Another good Melodic Death Metal band that has some Power Metal influences is Kalmah, check out their albums Swamplord, They Will Return, and Seventh Swamphony.

Also, since you said you like Power Metal but didn't mention these two bands, try out Blind Guardian's albums Somewhere Far Beyond, Imaginations From the Other Side, and Nightfall in Middle-earth. Plus the band Persuader's albums Evolution Purgatory, and When Eden Burns.

Also, try out some good Thrash Metal like Overkill, Vektor, Testament, Artillery, and Kreator.

Also, for the sake of recommending something to you I'm more uncertain of you possibly enjoying. Try out the band Sigh and start off with their albums Imaginary Sonicscape, Gallows Gallery, and In Somniphobia.

Edit: also since it seems you want to branch out into Extreme Metal (as in Black Metal, Death Metal etc.) here are a few other recommendations more along those lines.

Try out Gorgoroth's classic Black Metal album Pentagram. Try out Death's classic Death Metal album Leprosy. Try Necrophagia's classic Death Metal album Season of the Dead. Try out some landmark Technical Death Metal albums like Demilich's album Nespithe, Atheist's album Piece of Time, and Lykathea Aflame's album Elvenefris.

Try out some Melodic Black Metal like Dissection's album The Somberlain. Also, Windir's album Arntor.

Try out some Atmospheric Black Metal like Ulver's album Bergtatt: Et Eeventyr I 5 Capitler, Nocte Obducta's Lethe, and Summoning's Old Mornings Dawn.

I haven't listened to it all yet, not even half, but I don't think theres a band listed that I won't like here. I'm not sure why I, or why anyone wouldn't like Sigh btw. I didn't mention Blind Guardian because I used to find them a bit underwhelming, but not after listening to Somewhere Beyond Imagination, they sound different in album format! I forgot to mention Ensiferum because they aren't in my library atm for some strange reason. Thanks again! (Also is it customary to thank in thread here or via PM? I don't want to clutter future threads if it isn't the norm!)
