I've loved the Stooges and the Contortions for a while now, and have recently been getting into The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion. I just love the simple, rock'n'roll energy of those bands, but also the chaotic noise that borders on formlessness at times (the Stooges especially for the B-side of Funhouse). It just feels so free and adventurous. Any other bands that really have that kind of thing going on?
And I've never really been the biggest fan of noise rock, so yeah.

That's pretty righteous. I just looked them up, and it's awesome that John Paul Jones is in the band.

The whole album kicks serious ass. And the production is real loose and greasy which fits the vibe perfectly.

I barely listen to music made since the turn of the century, so I was only aware of them by name.

Recommendation! Saint Agnes
I stumbled across this band Saint Agnes today. They've got a boy and a girl singer, kind of like The Kills but more rocky I'd say and with big riffs. I like 'em! Hope to hear more stuff!
I can't post a link because I havent written 15 posts yet but whatever, check them out. |
