Entire back cataloger or something more specific? They have a lot of music to choose from.

If it helps, I pick (in date order): Orchid, Watershed and Heritage

Short answer: yes, everything by them. Depends on what you want. Watershed and Blackwater Park are my favorites. If you want a rock album then Heritage is what you want. If you want a really soft progressive rock, then its Damnation. More of a black metal-ish feel, Orchid and Morningrise. Their heaviest albums are Deliverance and Ghost Reveries. Their heaviest song is Heir Apparent. My favorite songs by them are Burden, Windowpane, Demon of the Fall, Heir Apparent, Blackwater Park, and Advent....but Demon of the Fall is my #1.

Where to start if youre new to them: Blackwater Park, Ghost Reveries, Watershed, and Orchid. They each give you a little taste of everything. But serioualy, theyve never put out anything less than perfection (of course id say that, theyre my favorite band)

U.P.O. is a relatively unknown band by most music enthusiast that formed in 1997. Zoltán Báthory, lead guitarist for Five Finger Death Punch was the bassist with U.P.O. which disbanded in 2004.

This band shocked me. They have some special flavour that suprized me. I know them long ago when they'd sucked...and now they've changed to better. I think you might like them.

I need some suggestions for doom metal-based bands. Fusion with other forms of extreme metal, or other genres entirely, is just fine with me. I know the obvious bands (Sleep, Electric Wizard, Sabbath, etc.), so gimme some lesser known bands. Please and thank you, metalheads.

hmmmm, looking at your last.fm as a reference, it seems like your tastes fall more into the mainstream and well known.

For me, I like Death-Doom a lot as a style. The combo of the style when done well really impressed me.

Some obvious (to me) favorites:

Will leave it at that for now, as I am not sure what you think of the style really.

As far as metal goes, I am shamefacedly mainstream. I didn't even start liking truly extreme metal- anything heavier and harder than thrash- until this year. I do enjoy a wide variety of other genres, and love some very, very obscure artists, but definitely not in metal. By the way, if you look at my Last.FM, please ignore the "Overall" charts. I've had the account for a long, long time, and I have enjoyed some **** music in the past. Bear in mind, I'm only 20.

Anywho, your songs you gave me. I'm not super crazy about really low death growls (I much prefer screams or screeches or some other form of scary vocals), and it kinda bored me. Your second song by Autopsy was quite good, and I will look into that album, for sure. Your last song by Asphyx was my favorite of the three, and I will be checking out more from the band.

Thanks for the help, and any other recs are welcome.

Well, first of all, you need Reverend Bizarre in your life. Heavy and epic but with a hint of cheese.
