I may not be a fan of 90% of Swano's stuff. But EoS had a few great moments, especially on "Crimson". I have listened to some of his other bands, and found none of the other ones worthwhile, but I will give praise to "Crimson".

Anyone have any catchy punk/metal in the vein of Barbatos, (later) Abigail, Midnight, Bludwulf, etc. to recommend me?
This more of a song recommendation as it immediately came to mind when I read "catchy punk/metal". I'm guessing it probably won't suit your tastes, but it might.

It's not generic at all. That album's nihilism and misanthropy totally resonate with me. Whenever I'm having a "**** the World" kinda mood, I break out the SotS and just let myself totally wallow in it's anti-everything atmosphere.

I'm looking for a display of technical skill, progressiveness and long songs. A little like Dream Theater's Octavarium.
